Why we DON'T have model homes
Personalized: It's all about
YOU!
One of the most frequently
asked questions we get is, "Is there a
model home we can go look at?" The answer to this question is
"No."
All Formworks homes are custom designed to the
specifications of the customer, the requirements of the piece of
property, and the local building codes. Since each piece of property
is different and every customer has their own picture of what a home
should be, we don't have a standard set of floor plans or
configurations that we try to fit them into.
Each home is designed specifically for each customer. Where else
can you get that kind of personal attention for about the same cost,
and many times even less, per square foot as a comparable wood frame
home?
When you choose a company to build your home, they frequently
have site requirements that you must fit into and a standard set of
floor plans to choose from. So, do you want the 2 bedroom? The 2
bedroom with the study? Or the 3 bedroom? You get to choose the
colors and the carpets and you will probably have a say in the
fixtures and appliances and some may call that a customized home. A
Formworks Home is truly customized to your specifications and the site
you have chosen for your home.
We Value Your Security!
Many times the question is asked because the potential customer
wants to be reassured that their home won't be dark, damp, and
claustrophobic. They don't want to live in a cave. It is hard to
imagine the feeling of openness the free-span interior of a Formworks
Home gives. There is no need for load bearing walls so the three
dimensional effect can be utilized to the fullest. The same
curvature that gives the thin-shelled exterior the strength to
withstand a simulated nuclear explosion maximizes the use of light
in the interior. Photos and videos just don't do it justice. But we
have had hundreds of satisfied customers who have found their homes
not only met their hopes for an un-cave-like dwelling, but far
exceeded them.
Some of these satisfied customers will occasionally allow a
visitor to invade their home, but more of them would be willing to
sing its praises over the telephone. Our customers love their homes.
Even though our homes attract a lot of attention, we at Formworks
Building, Inc. protect our customers privacy by not giving out
names, addresses, phone numbers, or other personal information
without permission.
Don't limit your ideas by basing your design for your dream home
on what others have done. Each home is built to exacting personal
needs and site requirements. A Formworks Home can be as
light and cathedral as you could ever want, or as cozy and earthy as
a cabin in the woods. And anything in between.
Think of the Formworks home as the chameleon of houses. It can
successfully take on the look and feel of almost any style you can
imagine. Victorian, ultra-modern, Gregorian, Cape Cod, even
suburban-housing-development - if that is your taste. A common
configuration is a half dome with a front-end extension designed to
look like a standard wood frame or brick house. The side facing the
world looks like every other house in the neighborhood, but behind
it is a home that will last a hundred or more years with very little
maintenance and negligible costs for heating and cooling -
regardless of where you live.
So there are no "model" homes, because each Formworks Home is a
reflection of the owner, no two are alike there is no standard
look or floor plan and that's how it should be. Some homeowners
like the log cabin feel -- close and cozy, firelight playing on
the walls and the braided rug. Other owners want the lofty, ultra
modern feel, lots of white and chrome and windows. Some just want
a practical place to raise a family. Safe, easy to maintain on
a shoestring budget, something that accommodates the growing family
as easily as the easier living style of the retired couple.
You can build your dream house, whatever style, floor plan, or
landscape, and it can be a Formworks Home.
